From 5-7 pounds if using all of the OEM equipment on hood (headlamp, gauges, vent screens, etc. Can I use the OEM headlamp? Hoods can be ordered to use all of the OEM equipment. By telling us to “set it up stock” your hood will come with all of the internal mounts and all of the openings cut. If you do not want a particular opening (for example: gauges closed, if aftermarket instrumtation being used.), just let us know. How do Northstar hoods mount? Northstar hoods can accomidate all of the original equipment mountings; stock hinges and tie down straps. What colors are hoods available in? There are 20 colors available. Some of the OEM colors are metallics and cannot be matched exactly, since we cannot do metallic colors in-mold. However, we have non-metallic versions that can be substitued. We do have painted-to-match colors being added. For customers who plan on doing custom paint, we suggest ordering hoods in primer. How durable and flexible are Northstar hoods? Body by Northstar hoods have been used by Pro snocross racers and hillclimbers for the past 5 years. They can survive that punishing usage, so they can handle normal trail and mountain use. While our hoods are not as flexible as some of the lates OEM hoods are at room temperature, they do not get brittle when used in cold winter conditions. How are hoods shipped?
